These heroes may not be on drugs, but their comics are laced with psychedelic art, storylines and other fantasy-inspired gadgets and villains.
Doctor Strange- Known as the master of the mystic arts. He has explored other dimensions, cast spells and has the ability to astrally project himself (out of body experience to the max). Basically, he is the Timothy Leary of Marvel comics. Suggested reading: Dr. Strange Oath TPB
Nick Fury- He is the Director of SHIELD, an underground espionage team of gadget heads who started in the psychedelic sixties. The early issues of Strange tales and SHIELD's first series are strewn with the most psychedelic art and far out adventures ever seen in comics. Jim Steranko is the master of the splash page and his colors are right out of a Pink Floyd lightshow.

Killraven- He is living in the apocalyptic future-earth which has just lost a battle to aliens (think Road Warrior meets War of the Worlds) His band of survivors must battle warrior savages to stay alive and keep the human race from extinction. There are one-eyed men, snake people and other wierdness created by the Marvel mastermind Roy Thomas and a slew of artists.

Silver Surfer- He is a galatic herald tortured by his inability to escape his plight (he is a herald for a devourer of worlds). He is soulful and poetic while surfing dimensions and realms (leading to psychedelic worlds of adventure and stranger creatures of the universe) on his long board. Oh, and he has the power of the universe incarnate. Nuff said.
